Trustee 2 seats: Marcia Rafte 31 votes-Ellen Bowe 21 votes and Ken Armstrong(write -in )1 vote. I would like to thank everyone who has put that trust in me to be mayor again. I am honored and humbled and excited for the next 4 years. Congrats to Marcia and Ellen who help make this a great team!
TENTATIVE BUDGET: The village board just finished its 2023-2024 tentative budget. Their again will be no tax increase. After some long consideration on a tax cut the 2nd year in a row, the board felt that with the uncertainty of the economy and the current high rate of inflation we would maintain the current tax rate. If inflation would stabilize and give us some confidence, we will consider a bigger tax cut next year.
BRUSH/LEAF PICK UP: T.J. Tornatore and the crew from the Town of Lenox Highway Department will be picking up brush the week of April 17th-April 21st.This is a tentative date and could be subject to change with weather conditions. We will keep you posted on our website and sign. All yard waste must be in biodegradable paper bags and should not exceed 30 pounds. Brush piles must be neatly stacked with cut ends together. The pile must be no longer than 8 feet ,6 feet tall, 6 feet wide, and limbs no more than 6 inches in diameter. Arrangements can be made for additional pickups by calling Town of Lenox Highway Department. at 315-697-2900. T.J. and the crew do a remarkable job and the village thanks them for it.

RESPECT YOUR NEIGHBOR: The nice weather brings us all outside to enjoy our yards. Please respect your neighbors so they might enjoy it also.Keep your music at a respectable volume. Please bring the dogs in if they are barking for an extended period of time.We all should be able to enjoy our space equally.

I would like to thank Former chief Chris Colvin for his service as chief. Chris will still be an active role just not as chief. Its been a pleasure working with Chris and an honor to consider him a friend. I think we got a lot accomplished in the past few years. Wampsville Fire Department responded to 135 calls in the previous year. However big or small the call is, or what time of day or even what day it is, they always answer the call. I know I have said this in the past but it’s worth repeating it again. As the mayor of Wampsville, I can’t tell you how proud I am to call them our Fire department We are truly blessed to have such great people in this organization. The department is always looking for new members. If you are interested, stop in on any Wednesday night while they are practicing or anytime you see vehicles in the parking lot.
